Spaces in Between explores apartment living through the delicate balance between privacy and community. Rather than treating the spaces between homes as mere circulation, the project transforms them into layered thresholds. These in-between spaces allow individual life and collective living to quietly overlap. Each transition is designed to offer moments of connection without compromising personal territory.

The driveway is reimagined as a social ground rather than simply a route for vehicles. Generous landscaping and pedestrian-friendly edges create opportunities to pause, meet and interact. Above, the terrace extends this idea as a shared landscape for gathering, recreation and moments of pause. These spaces encourage informal interactions without prescribing how they should be used.

Each apartment retains a sense of privacy while shared spaces create subtle opportunities for encounter. Balconies become green thresholds, buffered by layered planting that filters views while maintaining visual connections. These planted edges soften the facade and bring nature into everyday living. The landscape acts as both a screen and a connector between residents. In this way, privacy is achieved without creating complete separation.

Rather than creating a conventional communal space, the project weaves community into the everyday rhythm of living. Privacy and togetherness are not treated as opposites, but as carefully calibrated layers of thresholds, greenery and shared spaces. Community happens naturally across balconies, along pathways and beneath the open sky. Spaces in Between ultimately makes the in-between the heart of collective living.
