Terra House is a modern Indian farmhouse rooted in its context and layered with the textures, colours and rhythms of the surrounding landscape. Conceived as a home that feels grounded rather than imposing, the architecture draws from an earthy material palette. Deep openings and filtered light create a sense of warmth and permanence. Together, these elements create a home that feels timeless and connected to its setting.

The interiors follow the same approach, allowing architecture and landscape to remain the primary protagonists. Understated furniture and artifacts are layered with subtle Indian references through handcrafted details, familiar materials and traditional motifs. Earthy materials bring texture and warmth to the spaces. Landscape weave through the built form, softening transitions between inside and outside.

Filtered light becomes an integral part of the spatial experience, with jali screens, shaded verandahs and carefully positioned openings tempering the intensity of the climate. Their porous edges encourage natural ventilation while maintaining visual connections with the landscape. Daylight becomes both a climatic and experiential element. The architecture therefore responds to its environment through subtle, passive gestures.

Terra House is a quiet, tactile interpretation of the Indian farmhouse, shaped by place and responsive to climate. Its earthy material language allows texture and craftsmanship to lend character over time. Contemporary forms are grounded in familiar materials and spatial experiences. Designed to age gracefully, the house celebrates an architecture that is rooted, enduring and quietly expressive.
